United Boeing 767 Engine Shuts Down in Flight

A United Boeing 767-300 was climbing through FL135 when the crew stopped the climb due to the failure of the right hand engine (PW4052). The crew shut the engine down and returned to Munich for a safe landing on runway 26R about 22 minutes after departure.

A passengers reported the engine went “boom”, another passenger the engine emitted a loud bang and all lights went out.
