The most influential newspapers in the United States have endorsed Joe Biden’s candidacy with the kind of urgency and enthusiasm rarely seen in presidential endorsements. Donald Trump, the incumbent president, is seen as an existential threat to American democracy and the well-being of American society. Trump has been called “the worst president in modern history” because there is no other way to describe the grifting-as-governing that he has wrought on America.
