    I have been enjoying the Zodiac series by Runow and Colette, and whilst I liked Bastard Bartender, I found this one to be my least favourite.

    Whilst as much as I love a good friends to lovers story, I just didn't feel it with Nic and Evette.

    Her "by the alphabet" way of looking for a guy was OK - even if she couldn't look past her nose to wee what was in front of her - but Nic's selfishness is what got to me most of all.

    I didn't really feel the romantic connection between then, and I think that to me they probably would have been better staying as friends, or FWB.

    I just wanted to slap some sense into Nic most of the time. I get why he wants to live life to the fullest, but his stubbornness and selfishness when he was involved with Evette annoyed me.

    Ugh, but these things are probably just me.

    So, whilst I didn't love this installment, I look forward to more of the Zodiac series in the future

    I thought for just a moment this great book was going to turn into just another one where the fmc gives up everything for the man. I am sooooo glad that the authors decided it was time to have a strong female lead that has a backbone and knows what she wants and what she deserves. So glad I came across this book. I think it may have been because of TikTok, but I’m grateful. BB has renewed my faith that at least someone besides me wants to see real strong bad butt women taking control. Love love love it!

I just loved how Lauren Runow and Jeannine Colette mixed it up with how the male character was the one that was prepared to make the jump and confess his love first instead of the woman. Evette and her bestie Marie went to the bar so that Evette could find a date with the first name starting with the letter P. But, instead Evette meets the cocky bastard bartender named Nicolás (Nic), who is very handsome, sexy, charismatic, and friendly whom Evette likes talking to, and he takes an interest in her experiment and tries to help her.     Another great story in our Falling for the Stars series. Our Bartender is a Gemini. I most often see the Geminis in my life as dual personalities. They often run hot and cold. They are, of course, two sides of the same coin and Nic is a typical Gemini to a degree. He grabs life by the balls taking as many risks as he can to feel alive. One risk he WON'T take though is love. He has no room for it and is very clear about having no expectations. Evette (BTW, Love the name) is looking for love and her alphabet game is allowing her to meet many different men that she normally wouldn't give a chance to. Unfortunately for her, she's already bypassed the N's. These two embark on a great friendship that may turn to more if each can get through their expectations. Steamy indeed and a truly fun and at times slightly emotional read.

    Love their journey from friends to lovers. Enjoyed the way they got to know each other and the adventures they experienced. I wondered how they were gonna go through that hump seeing as they are both strong people and I see both their points. I’m glad they were able to make a compromise without fully changing their wants and needs completely.
