    Anyone who read Earth will remember the dragons and the witch. And if you haven't, check out the Elementals starting with Fire because each couple's story builds on the overall arch.
    I gave five stars because while this could have been an insta-love mate thing the characters were allowed to progress at their own pace. We don't see all of that building since Gilbert focuses on the action but it's there in the background. If you're looking for up front hot and heavy or flirting ( Lucy Leroux books steam) this isn't for you.
    Valeria and Rhys are both cautious people who have a lot of baggage to unload. The drama mostly from outside forces with a few wtf moments thanks to magic. Ends in HEA. I'll be doing a re-read of Elementals and wolves to see if I can spot ant other likely individuals from the Seven.

    I love everything that this author writes! This book was a great offshoot from the elemental series. It was so exciting and captivating that I couldn’t put it down and I did read it in one read. The characters were intriguing and challenged my preconceptions about angels and demons. I think it was neat how she was able to weave love into that scenario. I wish that there would’ve been more flirty scenes. I know that this book did not include sex, but only one significant kiss in the whole book?There could have been more loving scenes while still being chaste. I felt it was very sterile. Still, I was really really rooting for the happily ever after.

    Valeria is a talented witch being hunted by bounty hunters because of her unique abilities. When she hides in a thrift shop, she encounters a mirror that shows her a being that she immediately feels a connection to. Soon, she finds herself being rescued by a handsome man named Rhys who happens to be the head of a group of dragon shifters.

    Rhys is convinced that Valeria is the reincarnation of his one true love, Gabriella. However, Valeria is reluctant to get close to Rhys because of her past and her abilities. Soon, the bounty hunters are back and Valeria finds herself in Sheol with the archangel Micheal, who wants to use her to open a portal to Earth that would allow him to rule there.

    This was an entertaining book, well-written, with great characters and world building. However, I did find that the book dragged a little in places. It was refreshing to read a paranormal romance book without tons of cursing and steamy scenes (which are often a bit part of most PNR books). This book is part of a series, but it does fine as a standalone if you haven't read the rest of the books. There is plenty of magic, supernatural creatures of all kinds, and a HEA ending.

    While on the run Valeria ducks into a store to hide out and life as she knows it changes forever. Rhys a dragon shifter who lost his mate sees Valeria and thinks she is her mate reincarnated. To Hell and Back is a clean romance between a dragon shifter and a witch. The storyline is intriguing and the world this author has created is filled with magic and interesting characters. I look forward to reading the rest of the Seven Families series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

    Witches, and dragons, and bears. Oh my! From the moment ‘Earth’ ended, I have been desperate to know what would happen next. Gripping and addictive, this book sucked me in from the very start. It has a snarky, sarcastic humor that appeals to my own, with plenty of nerdy references that made the geek-girl in me “squee!” in delight. Valeria has been forged in adversity. Her shell is diamond hard, and it’s had to be to protect her from everything trying to kill her. But she still has a softness, a sweetness, at heart, so it was easy for me to fall in love with her just as quickly as Rhys did. I’ve always pictured dragons as noble, courtly, creatures. Everything about Rhys simply reinforced those beliefs. I loved everything about this book, and I feel a little bereft that it’s over now. I’m not sure where the author is taking us next, but I’m excited to go there.

    This book not only starts a new series but is a bridge connecting the series to the world shared with the elementals which is where the Draconi were introduced. I love the way the author is expanding this world and giving us some more of the Draconi. Lots of action and build up to romance. The story was very well told and the characters were well developed. I was fully engaged from start to finish and had a hard time putting it down. I'm looking forward to continuing this series.

    A wonderfully written story of a woman who is hunted for het powers. She unknowingly ends up in the company of a dragon. Unsure of her place in his company and learning to undo lifetime habits of keeping to herself and learning to trust. The dragon lives in the past as he has never forgotten his mate. Together they fight against the evil trying to claim her. I enjoyed the fantastical world building and the slow burning relationship building.

    Girl running from vaguely threatening past but with no real motivation is found by her soulmate—one of the most powerful fantasy creatures in the world—who has the house of her dreams (described in excruciating detail). She’s fed from a banquet of the most delicious foods and then takes a nice bath in a luxurious tub. If you want a little fantasy to imagine being swept away from your own less-than-perfect house then you’ll love this book. But for me, I’ve read it a hundred times over on Wattpad. Bland, copy-paste and with little heart or plot.

    I did like the bear shifter who made sandwiches, though. And the dragon shifter that drove like a psychopath with no headlights on at midnight in the pouring rain.
