The National Transport and Safety Authority has approved four taxi companies to operate after they updated their licenses and registration.

In a statement on Monday, Director General George Njao said that the four companies have been licensed to operate as transport network companies.

They include Yego Mobility Limited, Little Limited, Uber BV and Bolt Operations.

"In carrying out its mandate and in line with the requirements of the NTSA Transport Network Companies  Drivers and Passenger Rules 2022, the following companies have been licensed to operate as transport network companies," he said.

This comes after Njao disclosed, in a statement on October 26, that it had received applications from six companies so far which were put under review.

"The Authority has so far received six applications and they are all at the validation stage prior to licensing of successful applicants," Njao said.
