SuperOne announces partnerships with Footballco and FIFPRO

SuperOne, a project leveraging blockchain technology to create a gamified social network, has announced partnerships with football media company Footballco and FIFPRO, a representative organisation for professional football players.

The SuperOne platform is gamified through trivia challenges testing fans’ knowledge about their favorite sports players and celebrities. The platform also implements NFT cards representing famous people, which can be staked to earn rewards. SuperOne was initially established in 2019 and the team has grown to over 60 people working across three development labs.

The first game mode to be implemented by SuperOne will be “Battle Royale”, where many fans will be able to compete against each other with the goal of avoiding elimination and becoming “the last fan standing”.

SuperOne’s partnership with Footballco could potentially expose the platform to a very large base of users, as Footballco’s reach extends to 640 million football fans worldwide. As part of the partnership, SuperOne will be the exclusive, presenting partner of GOAL 50, an annual award presented by GOAL.com to the world’s 50 best football players according to fan voting.

Meanwhile, the partnership with FIFPRO will provide licensing opportunities for using the name, image and likeness of football players in the digital entertainment sector. Here’s what FIFPRO’s commercial director Andrew Orsatti had to say about the partnership:

“We're pleased to welcome SuperOne to the FIFPRO family in an innovative partnership that champions the rights of professional players worldwide. We've combined the passion of football fans with brain-twisting trivia, in a blood-pumping race against the clock, with great prizes on offer. It's an ideal companion in between watching all the drama of the World Cup in Qatar.”

SuperOne founder Andreas Christensen commented on SuperOne’s two latest partnerships, saying that they provide an avenue to reach mass adoption in the football gaming industry:

"Footballco and FIFPRO represent the two most prominent avenues to achieve mass adoption in the football gaming industry. This trinity of football collaboration will disrupt the gaming industry, and we are humble, yet proud, of this achievement."
