Unlikely Queen
The prophecy foretold of the true queen...
In the new world, where the old world is long forgotten, an evil queen sits on the throne, and anyone who challenges her reign is a mortal enemy—I am that enemy just by breathing.

Something that most people don't know about me is that I used to be a huge fan of paranormal and fantasy stories before I dove into the dark romance's side!!!
T.L. Smith have written many delicious dark romance stories and when I heard that she was about to jump into the other side, I just wanted to follow her in there too, cause I was soooo intrigued!!!
And since I am very familiar with the fantasy, dystopian, paranormal genre, I can say with clarity that this story, even though very different of what T.L. Smith is known for, was very interesting and beautifully written...
"Destinies are meant to be broken, baby."
This book had everything...
It was written in a dystopian enviroment with many parmanormal and fantasy ingrentients...
Angels, witches, werewolves, vampires, the grim reaper.... everyone is making an appearance in this book but it was married beautifully and very intriguingly... and I really enjoyed it, even though it was lacking the usual spicy level that T.L. Smith is known for...
"If I kissed you now, would you stop me?"

Talia was a girl that was hiding her true abilities and she was living content with her two sisters away from drama...
When one of her sisters goes missing, she and Tatiana have to get her back, but from this moment a crazy journey is starting for these two girls...
A journey full of suspense, unforeseen turns and unexpected allies....
A dark angel and a white angel are always by her side to guide her or mislead her...
An evil queen needs her gone... and the little fighter in her is coming out to play...
What will happen after all??? Will Talia fullfill her destiny???

I really liked Talia... She was a true fighter... and she had many remarkable creatures by her side that they were determined to fight beside her no matter the consequences...
I loved Grim and how he was always making sudden appearances in the appropriate time...
I loved Tatiana and John....
I loved Patrick... and I am still wondering about Bronik...
And honestly, I can not wait for more cause T.L. Smith made me fall for this new world that she had created in here!!!

Após Talia conseguir fugir da rainha má com ajuda do anjo da morte, ela vai em busca de ajuda, não só por ela mas também para encontrar suas irmãs, e acaba indo até os lobos e lá ela realmente encontra ajuda do Alfa deles, e talvez até um pouco mais que isso, já que sua irmã mais velha é a companheira destinada dele.
Talia é a profecia que muitos aguardavam, ela tem poderes que muitos desconhecem e que até mesmo ela está aprendendo a usar, ela tenta manter seus poderes em segredo mas são eles que estão fazendo a rainha má ainda mais louca atrás de poderes.
Esse é o primeiro livro de uma série, o que não vou mentir me surpreendeu já que eu imaginava ser um livro único e o final nos deixa ainda mais curiosa pela continuação, que eu espero que não demore. Mesmo o foco desse primeiro livro não ser o romance a gente durante toda a leitura sabe que o romance está lá e já começa a torcer e passar pano para um certo anjo da morte.

That was a really weird start. A bit of a weird book if I'm being honest, but the first chapter being a two-page steamy scene between two characters we haven't met yet is what's sticking in my head. There was no prelude, why would I care what they're getting up to in the bedroom? It made absolutely no sense until the very last chapter and even then, it didn't make much sense.
The second chapter was a major infodump. It was like the author didn't understand how worldbuilding works so she just threw in every single note she had about her world and gave us a rundown of the history she had planned for her main characters. No description of course, it's all telling no showing here!
Surprisingly, the story did improve - although the lack of sensory details and actions continued. The author had some really good ideas. A world that keeps supernatural creatures segregated with magical barriers, an evil queen determined to rule, a young woman destined to stop her, and best of all, a forbidden romance with Death.
Sadly, the potential of the story is weighed down by juvenile writing that lacks substance. If I'm understanding correctly, the evil queen just woke up one day and decided to be evil. There's no growth in the relationship between Death and Talia. He just swoops in every so often to save her, they kiss, and that's that. And worst of all, the heroine is pitiful despite being the most powerful being to exist (because, of course). Someone attacks her and she responds with:
I almost forgot: the book is centralized around a prophecy that we're not told until the very last page. I still don't even understand all of the book description despite having read the full book.

TL Smith doing paranormal? Color me intrigued, and this was a great first outing. Lots of supernatural creatures, an interesting world with a dangerous prophecy, and a strong adventure story/quest vibe. The story is well written, the world building wrong, but TL Smith fans will certainly experience it a bit differently- this felt far more adventure than romance, a slower and more leisurely pace overall, and not quite the intoxicating and delicious steam I’ve loved in her stories. But all in all, an engaging read!

This author writes dark stories so well, when I heard she was releasing her first paranormal book I was definitely interested to see what it was like. I’m not a huge fan of PNR books but do have authors that I particularly enjoy. Now, I can safely add Ms. Smith to that list. While there definitely is romance it is more a good old fashioned the ‘goodies versus the baddie’ scenario, and oh boy, we’re the baddies evil!
The reigning queen is such a wicked and powerful witch that the task of annihilating her is so monumentally overwhelming it seems impossible. Talia and her two sisters are witches, but not evil, having the knowledge of Talia being special and possibly the chosen one, was not something they wanted known. Heck, they hardly talked about it amongst themselves!
The drama and action in this story is so exciting, I literally couldn’t put this book down and read in one sitting. With interesting characters, a fast-paced storyline, lots of twists and turns and loads of adventure it is definitely a five star read.

I was so excited when I heard this author was writing her first PNR story and she did not disappoint! This story was so good it has a little bit of everything vampires werewolves witches angels and all sorts of other supernatural creatures I loved the journey this author takes on a quest of sorts the romance is a little slow it’s definitely not one of her steamiest stories but it’s definitely a paranormal adventure you don’t want to miss I loved the characters the world building her descriptions definitely brought this book to life for me if you’re a paranormal romance or fantasy lover you won’t want to miss this book! Loved it! Can’t wait for the next book!

This book makes it my fifth that I have read by author, T.L. Smith. Yet, it is my first paranormal book I have read by this author. I do like this other side of the author. This book is a nice departure from the other books I have read by this author. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
As a fan of paranormal romance books this one has a little bit of everything for all readers...witches, vampires, angels, devils, and fae. Oh, and the angels are not just any angels but the Angel of Light and the Angel of Death or Grim as Talia calls him. Yes, that is right, Talia is very close to both Angels. You could say things so get a bit spicy. She is going to need all the help she can get as she has a bounty on her head issued by the queen. Luckily, Talia is joined by her sisters, Tatiana and Tanya.

The blurb for this book intrigued me, especially since I've been on a paranormal kick lately. The storyline kept my attention and I liked Talia and Tatiana, but I felt like there was something missing. The world-building left me feeling like I'd stepped into the middle of a story and trying to figure out how things connected. For instance, what exactly is the deal with Grim and Talia? He saves her several times and they have their moments, but suddenly she's supposed to fear him? Things didn't connect.
I will say, I'm still intrigued enough to look for the next book in the series. But I'm hoping the storyline comes together a bit more to help fill in some of the holes.

The Queen wants to rule forever and no one will stand in her way. Talia will be thrust into a quest and face many endeavors with the help of a dark Angel named Grim to survive the Queen’s wrath. Can she make it through and become what is in the prophecy? Witches, Angels, vampires and other creatures all intertwine in this paranormal adventure. This goes at a slower pace but is very well written as it is more a quest pnr. If you’re a fan of some current popular fantasy shows with many creatures you will enjoy this journey. This ends leaving a door for more. Told in Talia’s POV

Three Witches Tatiana eldest Earth element, Tanya middle Air element, Talia youngest has all the elements plus other special powers the Prophecy involves her to make a better world.
Talia has always had the Angel of Death watching over her would appear when needed not something usually done they have a special connection, she will tear down all the Ward's & free her allies Wolves, Witches, Vampires & force the evil Queen from Crystal Castle once & for all.

There’s a demon who has the personality of Crowley with the looks and swagger of Lucifer. Also an angel of death who is basically Amenadiel.
The MC is 1 of 3 sisters who are witches with elemental powers. There’s vampires, wolves and whole lot of fantastical creatures that live in this world.
The story overall was pretty good, however there was not a lot for world building and the characters were unoriginal. They felt like they were pieced together from different books and tv shows.
We got next to nothing in background for really any of them. Pretty predictable. No development for the love interest- just random interactions and a weird spice sesh that’s maybe 1/2🌶 Just felt like a really surface level fantasy.
That being said, this book is really fast paced and an easy read that was intriguing enough to keep me interested the whole way through.

I am not a paranormal reader really. I just never can get really in to them. But this one I dd. I knew I had to try it as soon as I saw that T.L. Smith had written a paranormal book. I was kind of nervous to dive in to this book for fear that I wouldn't like it and I am a huge T.L. Smith readers. I ended up loving it very much. I loved that it was the good guys on one hand and the bad guys on the other. There is a reigning queen in this book and good gracious you are going to come to a big old clash in now time.
The queen who is on the throne now is gosh someone you are going to despise. She is also someone that is a very powerful queen and the idea of getting rid of her is never going to be easy. It is a huge task to preform and it makes the fact that she needs to be gone seem so daunting. Talia and her two sisters are witches. They also know that a prophecy tells of a future queen to come and that girl is Talia and they do not want word getting out that she is the one the prophecy told about. The girls hardly ever even speak about it when they are all alone with each other. This is the story of the taking of the throne and I don't know that I can tell you to much about it without giving some major things about the story away. I really did end up liking it thought and it is a romance so you don't have to worry that this isn't. It will keep your turning the pages as fast as you can so that you know what is going to happen next. I loved the whole idea in this book of the good and the bad and when I say bad I mean down right evil. You do not want to miss this book!! It was a really great read and I am so glad that I got to read it.

They also know that a prophecy tells of a future queen to come and that girl is Talia and they do not want word getting out that she is the one the prophecy told about. The girls hardly ever even speak about it when they are all alone with each other. This is the story of the taking of the throne and I don't know that I can tell you to much about it without giving some major things about the story away. I really did end up liking it thought and it is a romance so you don't have to worry that this isn't. It will keep your turning the pages as fast as you can so that you know what is going to happen next. I loved the whole idea in this book of the good and the bad and when I say bad I mean down right evil. You do not want to miss this book!! It was a really great read and I am so glad that I got to read it.

I was enthralled from the first page to the last
The world-building was mystical
The characters were flawed yet bewitching
The story itself was memorizing - a lot is going on and I felt the introductions and transitions flowed quite well for the chaos that was occurring
Small bits and pieces of information and possibilities were carefully placed crafting a substantial foundation for the series
It wasn't a romance in the normal sense
It was a bendy zaggy journey that I wanted more of

I'm torn on how to rate this, because my enjoyment and the plot would get a 4 but the writing especially the early chapters would be closer to a 2.
The beginning chapters were mostly info dumping and very little world building. There was a lot of bones to the story that could have created a wonderful, intense world. But what we get is a messy introduction to an insane world. There was a lot on inconsistencies that made it a bit confusing to me. Letting go and just rolling with the punches made this a fun easy read.
Not learning what the actual prophecy is until after the actual story is finished, there isn't a slow build to learn about it during the story. Everything is pushed because Tatianna wants Tanya back.

Exactly what this book is.
Read it in one go.
I just could not put in down once I started.
Trying to read as fast as I could so I could turn the page to see what happens next.
While trying to savor each word and each event.
What a truly extraordinary world Ms. Smith has created.
Vivid details and descriptions.
Different wards with different atmospheres and environments.
Witches, vampires, sexy werewolves and different creatures and beings.
And to it all off one evil witch.
Truly brilliant!
While I was reading it felt more like I was floating and seeing words come to life.
I freaking loved all the characters, well mostly all of them lol
Talia is a beautiful girl, inside and out.
What a beautiful white soul she has.
The love she has for her sisters is so powerful and so deep.
She is content with her quiet life.
Until one ordinary day when everything she knows and holds dear will change as quickly in the blink of an eye.
Her quiet life is forever about to be changed.
Tatiana the eldest sister is so freaking bad@&$.
I adored her.
Tanya the quiet shy one, is the one I just wanted to hug and protect.
Grim oh my still my heart.
What a sexy mysterious character he is.
Bronik makes me weary and leaves me edgy.
And John and Patrick the gorgeous wolves are just dreamy.
I loved every single thing about this story.
The characters, the creatures, the otherworldly beings.
The plot and storyline kept me on the edge of my seat and my heart pounding so hard.

A book that deserves more than 5⭐.
A paranormal romance with almost all of my favourite supernatural beings that left me speechless with amazing characters, mind-blowing storyline and great writing style. I was instantly addicted and had to finish the read in one sitting.
It's the story of a girl whose life was already predicted through a prophecy. But the question is will she change her destiny or end up doing what fate has decided.
Talia and her sisters(Tatiana & Tanya) might be witches but live a very normal life but everything changes when Tanya is taken. Tatiana and Talia begin their journey to save their sister. It's a new world created by the author and you keep learning about it as the sisters continue their journey.
There are many enemies and some allies but the constant who protects Talia and is there for her when she needs is The Angel Of Death(Grim). Although, they spend very little time together you can feel their bond and chemistry. I was shipping them throughout the read.
My heart skipped a beat when Talia says ~ "A Heart that beats for Death. Only Death." Some of the moments they share had me swooning.
By the end I am giddy with excitement, dying to know what happens next and praying that Talia and Grim end up together. Cannot wait to read more of this Fantasy world 😁.

I must say when it comes to paranormal/fantasy stories it can be hit or miss for me. But this one was a hit. I was instantly drawn into the story and it was hard to put down. I almost finished it in one sitting. This story has everything: witches, vampires, werewolves and even angels. You would think that this mix would just create a mish mash but it works really well. And we have Talia at its centre. All she wanted was to exist but is drawn into a war that she didn't want. But she understood what had to happen especially when family was on the line. There are still questions hanging around so I am hoping there will be more stories. I did love Grim but I wish there was more between Bronik and Talia. Tatiana was brilliant. But so many characters were great in this story and there were some great interactions. I really enjoyed this story and thought it was well done.

YES YES YES, tl honestly what have you done to me? This book had me glued to my seat trying to figure out what was to happen but those twists and turns wow wow wow. This is not your typical romance at all and I didn’t mind, I loved. I loved reading something out of my usual reads, vampire, werewolves, angels and witches with a twist … I do love a paranormal and it was delivered with perfection. I love a strong heroine and Talia was on point but I loved the other female characters (please). This is a book that sets the ground work for so many more books with so much more story to be told (I hope and beg please).
It had me craving more for this series and what else is coming our way especially the way it ended (come on you’re killing me). So if you’re looking for something a little different that has action, a slow burn attraction between two complete opposites, emotion (I cried) and a mix of feelings this is the book for you. I have never read a paranormal Tl smith book prior to this but I demand more and more from her. She just knows to suck you in and keep you wanting more.

How do I even start this review for this absolutely amazing and incredible escape. It has been awhile since I have read a book like this which completely stole my attention and placed me in another world. This book encompassed everything with witches, vampires, werewolves and angels and placed some at odds with the others and others meshing together unpredictably. I found the characters perfectly written with their details and descriptions and don't forget all the feels and how this book went straight to my soul. Oh book 2 please come soon!!

This is T's first dip in when it comes to writing pnr, but let me tell you, what a bloody dip it was!!!!
This book had me hooked from the very moment I started, right up until it ended, and it ended far too soon for my liking!!
The characters, the setting, I could literally picture everything whilst reading, and I found myself with a constant smile on my face, and heart pounding out of my chest.
I didn't want it to end, and I am so glad we will be getting a book 2. This series, and world has soooo much potential and I reslly cannot wait to see where T takes it.
She may be known for her dark writing, and badass heroines. But please don't let that detract you from giving this book a try. You will fall in love with it, and she still gives us our badass heroines!!!

Wow! Who knew my dark queen could write fantasy books! A great surprise for me with this one. I love dark romance and bad heroes but this was a refreshing change. It has all the elements to love in a fantasy book, wolves, witch, vampires. How could you not love to read something like this. A strong heroine and some mysteries that you can't find the answers got me hooked. The start of a great series, (I hope LOL) I want more books with all the characters I read. 5-long live the true queen-stars.

I am not typically a paranormal trope reader but I love TL Smith and I’ll read anything by her! I’m so glad I read this… there is a part of me who loves the whole witch, vampire, werewolf dynamic and stories so this didn’t disappoint! The story TL has woven together just blew my mind. A definite must read if you’re into this trope (or even if you’re not lol)!!

Paranormal is not normally a genre I like to read but as this author is one of my favourites I decided to give it a go and I’m glad I did. I was a little confused to start with but as the book went on I was captivated and was not able to put it down. Talia’s story is one with lots of mystery and she holds a power unlike anyone has ever seen and she is a threat to the current Queen. Grim aka death is the dark Angel that is always there when needed. Hopefully there will be more to Talia and Grim’s story.
