Covey's timeless book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," provides actionable insights that are as relevant today as they were when first published. Thanks to my awesome friend and colleague Valentina Masu  for reminding me of them over the weekend I consistently found these habits to have a dramatic impact on my leadership and my team's ability to achieve extraordinary results 1. Be Proactive: Take responsibility for your life 2. Begin with the End in Mind:  Envision your destination 3. Put First Things First: Prioritize the essentials 4. Think Win-Win: Think long-term relationships 5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listen and then listen some more 6. Synergize: Combine people's strenghts. Diversity is powerful 7. Sharpen the Saw: Take time to recharge across all dimensions of you life - physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Fostering DEI is critical for the success of a business Thanks Patricia Arroyo Ph.D., C.E.C. for sharing your work and program A pivotal moment for me, was when I was fortunate to join the DEI council at Meta. The experience opened my eyes to how little I knew about DEI I learned how my own fears of talking about it prevented me from taking meaningful actions. Framing failures is key to learning from them Failure is part of life, both business and personal We all failed at something at some point How we frame failure and how we learn from it is key Love Amy Edmondson latest book Learning from failures is key to progress What is your biggest learning from failure?

I have always been "obsessed" with peak performance And have been studying what athletes can teach us I found that it does not involve working harder Most professionals believe performance = work harder And they are wrong I have used  this framework for  10+ years, and it works Professionals can learn from athletes how to build: • Physical capacity: fitness and healthy habits • Emotional capacity: nurture positive emotions • Mental capacity: improve your focus • Spiritual capacity: connect with your deepest values We are used to training our muscles in the gym We can learn how to train our mind and emotions It is easier than you think What steps can you take this week to become a corporate athlete? How to stop overthinking and avoid burnout The amount of pressure we face does not help This HBR article shows a useful perspective The first step is recognising what is going on You might have experienced 3 types of situations: • Rumination: you are dwelling a lot on the past • Overanalysing: you are procrastinating • Future tripping: worry too much about the future    Some useful strategies • Create "worry time" to manage negative thoughts • Adopt a  "good enough" approach to your decision • Zoom out and focus on the bigger picture In my leadership and coaching experience, I find that adding mindfulness practices and proper "mental fitness training" can help in managing overthinking effectively.
