Welcome back - it's Day 10!

Let's talk about Pinterest Search today.

But, before we jump in...

Today, I was pretty surprised when my email Inbox looked "quiet".

It was ODDLY quiet - but I didn't think TOO much of it and went about doing my work for the day.

Was it just a "Quiet Day"?

Oh no - of course not.

Turns out that there is something VERY weird going on with my email.

Many emails aren't coming through - some are being returned 'undelivered' - many of my emails SENT aren't going anywhere.

Support is digging into this for me so HOPEFULLY it will be sorted out soon.

Clients: I got ya - I'm still here...and still pinning away FOR you.

Now I'm sitting here crossing my fingers and toes hoping THIS email gets sent to you properly.

Here's to hopin'!

Ok, back to Pinterest.

As I sit here, I have:

One Pinterest Account open in FireFox

Another Pinterest Account open in Chrome.

And ANOTHER Pinterest Account open in Edge.

AND... my personal account is open in the Pinterest App on my phone.

I just searched Pinterest for the EXACT SAME keyword phrase on all accounts.

Know what?

All the results are DIFFERENT.

Not like crazy, wild TOTALLY different, but significantly different.

That is personalization at work.

Since you're reading this, it's safe to say you're a blogger.

If you're a blogger, I'm sure you spend a LOT of time trying to rank your blog posts in Google, right?

Right!

I also feel safe to guess that you spend a good bit of time going to Google and searching for YOUR keywords to see how you rank.

That's natural.

We ALL do it.

Has anyone ever told you that the best way to 'check your rankings' is to open an Incognito window in your browser and THEN search Google for your keywords?

We do it that way in attempt to remove ANY personalization from the search results.

It's really the only way to get a 'clean' gauge of how you're ranking.

Well guess what?

Pinterest is the SAME WAY.

To get a more 'pure' look at where your pins rank in Pinterest search, you need to be LOGGED OUT and search Incognito.

and boy oy boy will you learn and discover a LOT about Pinterest when you start doing that!

When you search Pinterest from a logged out Incognito browser, all the personalization and search history, etc etc etc is removed from the Pinterest search results.

In essense, Pinterest is showing you the pins that they 'feel' are best for that search with nothing clouding or affecting the results.

Pinterest is also showing GOOGLE their "best of the rest" - the pins they have had time to gather context on and feel secure that those pins are VERY related to the search query.

Remember now:

Pinterest is a BUSINESS.

They have stock holders to please.

Pinterest is also a website...

A website that wants to rank in Google just like YOU do.

When Google searchers end up on a Pinterest result, the BIG goal for Pinterest is to convert those Google searchers to NEW Pinterest users.

New active signups make stock holders HAPPY =)

What happens INSIDE your Pinterest account is different for everyone.

But what happens OUTSIDE Pinterest is a totally different thing....

Those results are "pure" and, for lack of a better phrase, those results have been 'vetted' by the Pinterest algo as "good".

You want to rank in Pinterest -

and Pinterest wants to rank in GOOGLE.

PIQ helps YOU by helping Pinterest get what THEY want (and NEED).

And yes, it works - I use it every day.

Ok, let's stop there for today.

I'll be back tomorrow

- she says with fingers and toes crossed

PS - If you're interested in my Pinning Service...

Just a heads up that I'm only taking a few more clients right now.

Onboarding new clients, analyzing their blogs and Pinterest accounts, etc is taking a lot of time -

and it makes me feel 'behind' - and I don't like that.

Once I get about 6 more clients or so, I'm going to close off NEW clients for awhile until I get everyone rocking and rolling -

Then, I'll open it back up based on my time availability.

I'll let you know when all spots are filled.

And yes, I'll let you know when I open up more spots.

That said, if you ARE interested and don't want to miss this first onboarding opportunity -

Ok - WHEW, lots of words haha!

People talk about how many STEPS they get a day....

I want a counter on my FINGERS to see how many CLICKS I make a day lol!

As always -

If you don't GET Pinterest...

She is AH-MAZING and the only one *I* trust to teach Pinterest to other bloggers.

Missed an Email?

We'll talk tomorrow!
