Images posted on social media show a Russian supersonic bomber engulfed in flames following a drone strike.

The latest in a series of drone strikes in Russian territory has damaged a Tupolev Tu-22M3 bomber.
According the manufacturer's website, the Tu-22М3 long-range supersonic bomber is designed to destroy targets using guided missiles and aerial bombs.
The Tu-22M3 has been used for attacks in Ukraine throughout the war.

The Russian defence ministry posted on Telegram: "The Kyiv regime carried out a terrorist attack using a copter-type UAV on a military airfield in Novgorod region."
"As a result of the terrorist attack on the territory of the airfield, a fire broke out in the aircraft parking lot, which was promptly eliminated by fire brigades.
"One plane was damaged, but there were no casualties as a result of the terrorist attack."
Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack.
